The weekend

On Friday night we went to the Buddha Bar with Sarah, Drue and their friends from Oslo, Angelica and Lars. They came round to our flat with a well-received bottle of wine to look at our new "32 inch, LCD" Samsung TV.

The next day (following another Ikea assembly session) a group of us headed to brunch at the Thai Kitchen located within the Park Hyatt Dubai. We had a lovely table outside and enjoyed every single one of the 50+ dishes brought to us, not to mention a few glasses of wine.

Obviously a walk was in order afterwards, so we strolled along the jetty at the marina & admired the yachts. Later that evening we went for a drink at a bar on the beach, very nice it was. I fell asleep quite early that night.

A flat at last: Part II

Finally - well close to 3 weeks ago now -we moved into our new flat, and after two Ikea deliveries and numerous trips to an un-named, insanity-inducing Hypermarket, we are more or less settled in. The flat is lovely, in a nice area and full of cupboards (very important). It is 1 bedroom, but I can assure all future guests the sofa bed will more than make up for the disappointment of no second bedroom to call your own (and don't worry, I'm sure the technical aspects of opening the bed will have been sorted by the time guests arrive). Speaking of technical, I am going to try and upload some initial photos with more to follow...!
